Fujitsu distributor, Inelco Hunter, has announced the availability of the FTP-648, a high speed, battery-powered 4-inch thermal printer mechanism. It handles the conflicting demands of high performance and low-cost solutions in one compact design.
The FTP-648 is suitable for applications such as warehousing, POS, industrial, medical, scientific instrumentation and portable label printing.
The FTP-648 series thermal printers combines 50mm/sec print speed and 8 dot/mm 210 dpi resolution, with significantly-improved, high-quality output for crystal-clear barcodes, graphics and text and yet remains barely audible.
With its diminutive size of 20.5mm (H)x139.5mm (W)x40.5mm (D) and weighing in at 160g the printer is suitable for any OEM design.
The printer handles paper stock 80-115 microns thick in the curved paper path and 80-150 microns in the straight paper path - up to 114mm maximum width. Fujitsu has rated the print head life at 100 million pulses or 50km of paper.
The printer has an operating temperature range of -25°C to +70°C and a platen life of 5,000 cycles. It also features a lock lever-releasable, detachable platen that simplifies paper loading and reduces those periodic downtimes for necessary maintenance.
Designed for flexibility and reliability, both front and bottom paper insertion paths are offered as standard.
