Inelco Hunter has introduced the Sanyo POSCAP TPG Series solid electrolytic chip capacitor which uniquely combines a low ESR (Equivalent Series Resistance) at high frequency with high capacitance, all within a low-profile package.
The anode is sintered tantalum and the cathode is a highly-conductive polymer formed using Sanyo's original innovative technology.
As a direct result of using a solid electrolyte, it has very high reliabilty and high heat resistance, making it ideal for high-frequency digital applications.
The POSCAP TPG Series has a self-healing mechanism which prevents short circuits, making them safer in use than ordinary tantalum capacitors. Also, POSCAP capacitors can retain high capacitance with bias voltage, unlike ceramic capacitors.
Applications will include: DC/DC converters; personal computers; VCRs/camcorders/digital cameras; portable communications devices; PDAs; navigation systems; hard drives/DVD drives etc.
